The »mk« earring edition is strongly influenced by form and colour studies of my graphic design studies. The resulting playful and expressive style makes the objects remind of small paintings on the ear. Through the combination of translucent and opaque plexiglass in contemporary colours and dynamic forms, a visual presence is created. The first edition, which includes one hundred and fourty individual pieces, was produced locally and by hand. The Upcycling jewellery is made from industrial waste from local plexiglass companies. The lightness of the material makes the earrings comfortable to wear. The connecting pieces, like the ear studs, are made of stainless steel and are therefore allergy friendly. For sale the earrings are presented on natural cardboard and have a hand stamped logo.
