dear Journey,
it was a weird semester. An abnormal course happening among the chaos of the world. Maybe it’s just the perfect time to spend exploring a new methodology and equip ourselves with some fresh capabilities. I felt thankful for the whole chaos in ‘a way’, positively, not the other way around.
This studio has been weird like our world, but nice in ‘a way’. FAT brought us a vision of design which, well, we thought we knew, but more like we’re new to it. A way of reconsidering how we’ve always been dealing with ‘an idea’, using all-time-favorite-tool, drawings. Basically, we draw stuff, which might bring us an idea. It has become an interesting process of practicing drawing, along with thinking and understanding every single creature we are putting in it. A drawing can appear so simple but maximized in its idea or such full but contain very simple thought. One of the things considered in #greetingstostirling was postmodern and how Stirling’s design manifesto was reflected in Neue Staatsgalerie. We’ve studied the most amazing drawings in the history of architecture drawings as well as the methodology Stirling used in his design process. We put ‘things’ on to ‘system’ in our drawings, the same way he put quotations on to his building. We borrow ‘things’ from history to design a new signification to it. The play never ends. As well as a drawing’s potential is infinite.
Among the chaos board, we experiment things, wonderful and meaningful things.
